Learn what makes stem cells so powerful—and why they’re worth preserving at birth.
From leukemia to emerging therapies for autism, see how stem cells can treat over 80 conditions.
Find out how cord blood is collected—and why it’s safe and painless for both mother and child.
Sign up online or call 1.866.389.4659, and your StemCyte collection kit will be sent to you.
At birth, the umbilical cord blood (and tissue, if selected) is collected by your healthcare provider and placed into your StemCyte collection kit.
Your StemCyte collection kit will be securely transported to our facility for safe storage.
StemCyte’s integrated model gives families added peace of mind—private storage with access to a global public inventory if needed. And because both systems share clinical infrastructure, you get hospital-trusted quality whether you’re storing for your own family or helping others.
StemCyte’s proprietary REGENECYTE™ platform is revolutionary—it multiplies stem cells from small or low-volume cord blood collections, overcoming one of the biggest barriers in treatment: not having enough cells. This breakthrough dramatically increases the chances that your child’s sample can be used in life-saving therapies.
StemCyte meets the highest standards in the world with FDA registration, AABB accreditation, and FACT certification. Our labs and protocols are trusted by top hospitals across the globe—because when it comes to your family’s health, nothing less than world-class will do.
With over 2,300 cord blood units released—more than all other private banks combined—StemCyte leads the industry in real-world clinical use. This isn’t just a number; it means StemCyte’s units are consistently transplantable, viable, and trusted by hospitals.
StemCyte trains hospital staff directly and uses a proprietary system to maximize total nucleated cells and CD34+ stem cells—key indicators of transplant success. This means higher-yield collections and better treatment potential for your family.
StemCyte actively supports clinical trials, giving families access to the forefront of regenerative medicine. Banking with StemCyte means your child’s cord blood is stored in a facility that’s not just preserving it, but pushing the science forward—expanding what it may treat in their lifetime.
Leo’s second chance
At just 10 months old, Leo Martinez was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a rare blood disorder that affects bone marrow function. His doctors recommended a stem cell transplant as the best course of treatment. Thankfully, Leo’s parents had banked his cord blood with StemCyte at birth. Using his own preserved stem cells, Leo underwent a successful transplant—and today, he’s a thriving, energetic toddler with a bright future ahead.
“Preserving Leo’s stem cells gave us an option when we felt helpless. StemCyte gave our son a second chance.” — Marissa Delgado, Leo’s mom
Maya’s bright future
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 4, Maya’s family began researching options that might support her long-term health. When her baby brother was born, they preserved his cord blood with StemCyte, and Maya was later enrolled in a trial exploring the use of sibling stem cells for autoimmune conditions. The results were promising, and today Maya manages her condition with greater ease and fewer complications.
“We’re hopeful again—for Maya’s health and her future.”— Jason K., Maya’s dad
Elliot’s turning point
Elliot’s parents noticed developmental delays early on and later received an autism diagnosis. Because they had preserved his newborn stem cells with StemCyte, Elliot was eligible to participate in an investigational therapy using his own cord blood. His parents say the changes—improved communication, eye contact, and engagement—were the turning point in his journey.
“We’re watching Elliot become more connected to the world around him. It’s been life-changing.”— Claire R., Elliot’s mom
Once the cord blood is collected after your child's birth, it is promptly transported to our laboratory within the designated time frame. Upon arrival, it undergoes all necessary testing and validation to ensure quality and viability. The cord blood is then carefully preserved following strict national and international safety standards. Finally, the unit is securely stored in liquid nitrogen tanks at -196°C for long-term preservation.
Immediately after the baby is delivered, the umbilical cord is clamped, and the cord blood is collected once the baby has been safely separated from both the cord and the mother.
Banking your baby’s umbilical cord blood stem cells is a powerful way to protect your child’s—and potentially your family’s—future health. These stem cells are a perfect genetic match for your baby and have a higher likelihood of being a suitable match for siblings. In some cases, they may also be used for other close family members.
Based on current scientific understanding, newborn stem cells stored under proper cryogenic conditions are believed to remain viable indefinitely.
At StemCyte, we specialize in the innovative field of newborn stem cell banking. Our mission is to empower families by providing them with the knowledge and resources to preserve their newborn's umbilical cord blood, which can be a lifesaving resource for future medical treatments.
